Lock down : 200 almajiri youths arrested in Kwara state, my major concern is why the choose not to obey the safety lock down rule which is the only to curb community spreading of the novel disease.
Acting on a tipoff, the police intercepted a lorry with registration number Kaduna MKA 54 XL, driven by one Shehu Hashiru of Manigi in Niger State said to be coming from Funtua in Katsina State.
A statement in Ilorin by the spokesman of the command, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi, said the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun instructed that “the lorry and the 200 almajiri youths be escorted by fully armed policemen to the border of Niger and Kwara States from where they claimed to have come.”
The command also solicited the cooperation of residents of border communities in the state to always volunteer information on movement of vehicles and people on illegal routes traversing their communities in violation of the ban on interstate travels by the government.
This brings to three the number of illegal travellers intercepted so far in the state including the first one at Okoolowo axis, Erin-Ile- Osun state border point and Kanbi-Oloru axis as the l atest.
