The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has made an interim remittance of N3.5 billion to the Federal Government consolidated revenue account.
According to statement made by Dr Fabian Benjamin on the Monday, JAMB’s Head of Media in Abuja, explained that the remittance was in line with Prof. Ishaq Oloyede’s avowed commitment to remit wholly, excess funds generated from its operations to the Federal Government.
However, Manny Nigerian have been reacting to this on Social Media . While many Commend the Board, Many showed their dissatisfaction with the Remit.
Kenny Gee, on her Twitter page, Showed her Concern on the sudden remit , saying that the Board remittance have become a point of anger than praise.
“Suddenly jamb remittances have become a point of anger than praise. Our intellectuals can’t imagine someone remitting excesses after expending on exams as against the past where snakes swallowed money. Are we sure we really want change or this isn’t the kind we want? Tired much” She said
Also, a Man identified as Oliseun Onigbide Also Showed his concern by Telling jamb to reduce the Cost of the Exam , says JAMB is not a Revenue Generating Agency.
“Please reduce the cost of the exams. You aren’t a revenues generating agency. Let’s focus on those that bleed Nigeria billions.”He said
Dr. Dipo Awojide Also Add to the trend by Commending the Board on their Transparency.
“I said this in 2017 and 2018. Kudos to them for making money and declaring it, unlike before. But it would be good to reduce the cost of exam for parents, since JAMB isn’t Customs or FIRS. Covering costs and making N1Bn is still fine. Not N7Bn or N8Bn..” He said
